Department of Accounting is the largest and most comprehensive department in our division. Accounting is one of the key construction courses for the 12th FiveYear Plan in Hunan. We have two bachelor majors including Accounting and Financial Management and one diploma major in Computerized Accounting (including vocational high school counter parts). Accounting Program is the experimental major in the Major Comprehensive Reform of the 12th Five-Year Plan. It has three definite training orientations: ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), International Accounting and Forensic Accounting. Both Accounting and Financial Management are provincial key majors and provincial featured majors. Faculty members of Financial Management are comprised of talents from Hunan. “Auditing” has been selected as the provincial excellent curriculum, and “Financial Management” is a provincial classic textbook.Department of Accounting has a total of 113 classes and 5221 students.
Department of Accounting now has an outstanding teaching team with balanced age scale, higher level of educational background and sound teaching and research abilities. The department has a total of 91 faculty members, in which 65 are full-time teachers, 7 are administrative staff (5 of which arepart-time teachers), 18 full-time political student tutors and 5 secretaries.There are 1 doctoral supervisor, 15 professors and 33 associate professors; 6 faculty members hold PhD degrees and 10 are PhD students. We have 1 candidate for “the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project”, 1 outstanding social science expert in Hunan, 2 candidates for “New Century 121 Project of Hunan Province”, and 10 young core teachers. Overall, the faculty - stable and experienced - are noted scholars in the academic world of Hunan. The academic backbones are influential in the field of accounting in Hunan. As for the team of student affairs, 2 are senior policy advisors, 1 issenior career mentor and 1 is psychological advisor. The full-time faculty is apositive and dynamic team. In recent years, over 2,200,000 RMB have been contributed in introducing talents and improving research, experiment conditions and so on to strengthen discipline construction of various aspects. Achievements have been made. In the past five years, teaching staff in our program have taken on 86 ministerial and provincial-level projects and 2 national projects; 729 journal papers have been published, 22 of which are published by national leading magazines, 72 of which are indexed by CSSCI and10 of which are published by foreign journals; we have published 7 monographs and written 24 textbooks. Remarkable achievements with high theoretical level and practical value have been accomplished.
Teaching facilities of Department of Accounting are well-equipped There is1 on-campus accounting laboratory and 15 off-campus practicum bases. Theaccounting laboratory is a comprehensive experimental venue for manual accounting, computerized accounting, financial management, auditing and financial analysis. It can hold 960 people at a time to conduct multiplecomprehensive experimental teaching, which contributes to the cultivation offinancial application talents for our division. The economic and technological development zones of Changsha in the accounting laboratory and the off-campus practicum bases are rewarded the provincial outstanding practicum bases.
Department of Accounting focuses on the management and innovation ofstudent affairs. We persist in the improvement of learning atmosphere and theenhancement of students’ employment competitiveness. In the past three years,the initial employment rates of our graduates were over 85%. The annualemployment rates reached 93% and above. The Youth League of our department has been entitled “Red Flag Youth League Committee in Hunan” twice.

Objective: We nurture applied talents of forensic accounting who have specialist knowledge in management, economics, law, accounting, auditingand relevant laws and regulations as well as international practices of accounting and auditing to meet the requirement of the socialist market economy and the modernization program. Graduates of our program would develop all-round and acquire strong practical skills and professional manners with good oral communication, writing and computer skills. Fundamental theories of law and accounting as well as auditing and authentication skills would also be learned. Application abilities of auditing, finance and tax risk prevention and control would be offered by our program.

Graduates of our program would develop all-round and are experienced in enterprise management and practical rules of accounting. Strong accounting skills and information processing technology would be acquired. Policy and regulations of national finance and accounting management as well as relevant rules and international practices regarding accounting and auditing would be introduced.
