Hunan University of Finance and Economics（HUFE） is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain, along the western bank of Xiangjiang River in Changsha, capital city of Hunan Province. Developing from Housheng Accounting Institute, which was founded in 1933, the school was officially named Hunan University of Finance and Economics under the approval of the Ministry of Education of China in March 2010.
   There are 10 departments in HUFE: Department of Accounting, Department of Finance, Department of Business Administration, Department of Information Management, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Engineering Management, Department of Laws and Public Administration, Department of Political Theories, Department of Basic Knowledge and Department of Physical Education. Distinguished in disciplines of economics and management science, it covers 10 four-year-college specialties such as Accounting, Financial Management, Science of Finance, Science of Financing, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Computer Science and Technology, Information Management and System, English, International Economy and Trade, as well as 32 three-year-college specialties.      

   Being a provincial “Garden Institution,” it covers an area of 760 mu(about 51 hectares). HUFE has a total enrollment of over 10,000 students, with a strong full-time teaching staff of 531 teachers, among which there are 65 professors and 143 associate professors.
   HUFE is well-equipped with teaching facilities, owning 12 computer labs (2336 computers), more than 100 multimedia classrooms (9381 seats) and 9 language labs. It is also the first organization in the national educational circles that passed the check and acceptance of the Ministry of Education for its “Pilot E-Administration Project.” The university library has a collection of more than 960,000 volumes.
   It also has provided the students with 61 off-campus practice bases and several on-campus experimental centers for accounting, finance and tax, marketing, human resource management, information technology and management.  And the school has 17 research institutes, including the Property Right Finance & Accounting Research Institute， County and Rural-area Finance and Tax Research Institute, two key provincial research bases(Hunan Finance and Accounting Research Base, Governmental Non-tax Revenue Management and Research Base) and 1 key provincial laboratory (Business Finance Information and Capital Market Effect Laboratory).
   As a promising academic institute, the university has stuck to the motto of “Integrity for the people, Benefit of the people.” Holding on to the people-oriented philosophy, focusing on improving the quality of the students, HUFE aims at contributing more to the economic development of Hunan Province by adopting creative and scientific development strategies.
