On November 9, Doctor Liu Xiaohua, the Vice President of DeVry University in U. S. A., visited our school together with Ms. Willa Wu, the President of U. S.- China Exchange Council and Doctor Andy Ge, a professor from San Jose State University in California. President Wu Zhong-xin met with the guests in the meeting hall of the administration building. Also present at the meeting were Professor Zhang Yufen, the Secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission, Yang Anna, the Director of Organization Department, Wang Jiancheng, the Director of Science Research Office, Liu Gang, the Director of Foreign Language Department, and Jiang Yongwei, the Director of Teaching Evaluation and Construction Office.
President Wu Zhongxin reviewed our delegation’s visit to DeVry University in this October, warmly welcomed the return visit, and expressed heart-felt thanks to the assistance of U. S.- China Exchange Council during our delegation’s visit in the United States.
Doctor Liu Xiaohua showed great delights to the return visit to our university in such a short time and gave a brief introduction of DeVry
University, hoping to seek further cooperation between the two schools. As a teaching-oriented university, DeVry University takes the
leading position in the United States for the program of CPA training.
President Wu pointed out many similarities in the ideas of the two universities, such as laying great emphasis on professional training and
students’ actual operation abilities. He also hoped to introduce the advanced idea of accounting education in the United States to our university
by cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, President Wu Zhongxin presented his own calligraphy works to the guests as gifts.
Furthermore, on November 11, the Vice President of HUFE, Professor Fan Xiaoping met the Vice President of DeVry University, Doctor
Liuxiaohua, for detailed negotiation on the joint program of accounting education. They also exchanged ideas on cooperation in teaching and
scientific research, teacher and student exchange programs and so on. Also attending the meeting were Wang Yinmei, the Director of Teaching
Affairs Office, Liu Gang, the Director of Foreign Language Department, Ling Fei, the Deputy Director of Office of International Affairs, Yang Jian, the Deputy Director of Accounting Department.
The consensus achieved on those cooperation programs will definitely fasten the process of gearing up to the international standards for the
major of Accounting in our university.
