The Housheng School of International Education (HSIE) works with the International Affairs Office and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office. HSIE is mainly responsible for the operation and management of Sino-foreign joint programs, foreign study in China and other international education programs.
HSIE has a joint “3+1” undergraduate program in Accounting with the University of Roehampton, which was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2015 and reviewed in 2020. This program aims to train students to adapt to economic globalization and China's modern market economy through a dual campus and curriculum model. Students will study (at Hunan University of Finance and Economics) in China for the first three years, where more than one third of the courses are taught by teachers sent by the University of Rohampton. They can then choose to study in Rohampton in the fourth year. Since 2016, 696 students have been enrolled in the program. A total of 30 graduates have now obtained double degrees, and 84 have been enrolled as domestic or foreign master's degree candidates.
In addition, HSIE offers Chinese language training and degree programs for international students all year round, creating a strong international atmosphere in the campus.
